A blog is born.
Welcome to my musings on pop culture and parenting. I am the Pop Mama and this is a safe place to steal away from your screaming child and get your fix on what's up with Beyonce and great poop stain remover tips.

I typically try to stay away from blogging about news that is depressing, but I cannot help but put my two cents in on the Arnold Schwarzenegger infidelity.  All I keep thinking in my head is, "what a scumbag."  Then I think of his children with Maria and Maria herself.  Then I think of the child he fathered with the housekeeper.  All of these parties are on the losing end.  He destroyed his family with Maria and he left his "love child" without a father.  That poor kid -- stuck in the middle of this sh*t storm.  Again, what a scumbag.

My husband and I have gone over this news story multiple times in the last few days and just don't get it.  We have agreed that Arnold must have some sort of problem -- like, he can't control himself sexually (uh, hello Bill Clinton and Tiger Woods) -- otherwise, you just DON'T act like this.  I'm not making excuses for him or saying that his problem is something that should be treated or that he gets some kind of pass because of this issue, but seriously, if womanizing is a problem -- get help before you go and father a child with a household employee and then hide it for over a decade.  Next, I'm sure the press will release a story that he is going to "treatment" for his issues and wants privacy.  Ha!

Allegations of his womanizing have gone public in the past, so are we surprised?  Frankly, I was a little surprised.  I wanted them to be the couple that lasted -- that was solid -- despite their strange pairing.
This man was the Governor of California for heaven's sake!  Why do we keep putting MEN in office.  Maybe that is the question we should be asking.  The more powerful they get, the more they screw (no pun intended) everything up!  How many stories like this do we hear a year?  10? 15?  Makes me ill.

That is my rant for today.  I just had to get it out.  I'm going to take a few days to relax and will return with happier, more pop-ish fodder -- I promise!
